ABOUT US

Hudson Fisk grew up an avid outdoorsman on the family farm in south central Pennsylvania. When he wasn’t busy raising Morgan horses for Fisk Family Farms, you might have found him in the woods running up to three trap lines in the fall and winter months. He also started selectively logging hardwoods using one of the Morgan horses to skid the logs. When not logging he would cut firewood to sell and to heat his family’s home which had seven fireplaces and a wood burning furnace. Hudson, with the help of his father, Dan Fisk, cut and removed his first hazard tree at the age of 15.

When he was 18, Hudson moved to California and worked as a mechanic, fabricator, and fiberglass mold builder for Specialty Vehicles. At 20, he became a distributor for Matco Tools, where he soon became the youngest District Manager in the company’s history. Though very successful, Hudson missed being at home on weekday nights, so he decided to go back to what he knew best --- logging and tree work.

He began cutting firewood to sell and also hauled logs to the North Fork Mill using only his pickup truck and trailer. It wasn’t long before Hudson purchased his own big rig and a small dozer to skid the logs. Very soon after, people started approaching him to selectively log their properties, help them build roads and building sites, and remove hazard trees. That was 1989, Fisk’s Tree and Excavating Service was born and has been growing ever since.

Hudson met his wife, Wendy, in 1995 and they now have six wonderful kids. His business has expanded and now includes many more services. In the future, Hudson looks forward to Fisk’s Tree and Excavating Service continuing to be a valued asset and providing more jobs to the mountain community.
